However, it starts of steeply no matter how you start, gaining about 338 feet of elevation in a little over half a mile. The Jackson-Frazier Wetlands hike is easy. I'd put this as a moderate, but short. Expect complaining from small children unless they are exceptionally sturdy. Nevertheless, it's a lovely hike.

WebMay 22, 2024 · Chip Ross Park is located in North Corvallis, and is, in part, connected to the McDonal Research Forest, which I wrote about in my last entry. The hike I completed at Chip Ross Park this past week, is a moderate trail, fairly level, sans the trails beginning, which is somewhat steep. Web7.6 miles round trip. 1650 feet elevation gain. Practically inside Corvallis, Chip Ross Park has become a favorite spot to jog, walk the dog, or stroll across a meadowed knoll for a view of the Willamette Valley. But a less known, quieter trail extends beyond the park, climbing 3 miles through the McDonald Forest to a viewpoint atop Dimple Hill.
