WebNuke 4 features a new custom LRU memory cache which replaced NSCache. The primary reason behind this change was the fact that NSCache is not LRU. The new Nuke.Cache has some other benefits like better performance, and more control which would enable some new advanced features in future versions. WebNuke isn't great at real time playback. If you need to see the consistent playback you have to flip book your comp into something else, like RV or the Nuke flip book viewer. Edit: but the viewer is usually OK for a short frame range. Turning off overlays as u/fabbo42 mention will definitely make a difference.
